Girl Drugged & Raped By Gym Trainer In Odisha’s Cuttack City

Cuttack: A girl was allegedly drugged and raped by a trainer at a gymnasium at CDA-sector-9 within Markat Nagar police limits in Odisha’s Cuttack city and later blackmailed with obscene photos to maintain physical intimacy with him.

Though the incident took place in March last year, a complaint was lodged at the Markat Nagar police station in this regard on Saturday.

According to the complainant, she came in contact with gym owner Chinmay Swain in January 2022. A month later, he proposed to her and soon they had an affair. On March 16, 2022, Chinmay spiked her bottle of ‘refreshment drink’ and raped her. After she regained sense, the accused requested her not to disclose the matter to anyone while assuring to marry her.

later, he forced her to maintain physical intimacy with him by threatening to make recordings and photos of their intimate moments viral.

The 25-year-old victim claimed that the accused had recorded their intimate moments at different other places. She also accused him of assaulting and attempting to kill her when she had gone to his house.

She has also named his mother in the complaint as an accomplice in the crime.

Police have begun an investigation in the matter and are examining CCTV footage from the gym.
