Balasore: In another road accident in Odisha on Friday, a girl was killed in a collision between a Scooty and a motorcycle in Balasore district.
As per reports, the mishap took place while Surya Patra of Sribatsapur under Kamarda police station in the district was returning home on his Scooty. His son and daughter Barsa Patra were riding pillion on the vehicle.
When they were crossing Batagram bridge near Jaleswar, a biker coming from opposite direction in high speed collided with them. All three riding Scooty were thrown off the vehicle due to the collision and fell on the ground.
Barsa died after hitting her head on the ground, while her father and brother were seriously injured. The bike rider was also injured in the accident.
The locals rushed the three injured to a hospital at Jaleswar. Later, they were shifted to district headquarters hospital at Balasore as their condition deteriorated.
On being informed, a team from Kamarda police station went to the accident spot and sent the body of Barsa for post-mortem. They have registered a case and started investigation.
Earlier in the day, 3 people were killed in a van-bus collision in Ganjam district and 3 other persons lost their lives in a multiple-vehicle collision in Koraput district.
