Baliguda: A girl allegedly sets ablaze three motorcycles parked at the house of her estranged lover at Sunapanga Sahi under Baliguda police limits in Kandhamal district on Saturday night.
According to available information, the girl, a resident of K. Nuagaon area in the district, had a one-sided affair with Chiku, son of Dillip Kumar Nayak.
The incident took place around 2 am.
Nayak’s family members noticed the girl near the torched motorcycles and tried to nab her. However, she managed to escape.
Later, a complaint in this regard was lodged at Baliguda police station. The youth’s family members alleged that the girl had earlier attacked the youth with a knife at night while he was sleeping.
“Investigation into the matter is underway. Efforts are on to ascertain the whereabouts of the girl, who seems to be mentally unstable,” a police officer said.
