Girl Student Dies, Three Injured As Wall Collapses In Bhadrak School

Bhadrak: A girl student was killed while three others were injured after the wall of an abandoned building on Binayakpur UP School premises in Bhadrak district collapsed and fell on them.

The deceased student was identified as Manasi Mallick.

Those injured were rescued by the employees of the school and admitted to Basudevpur hospital in critical condition.

The incident took place when the students were plucking berries from a nearby tree.

The headmaster of the school, Sarat Barik, was suspended by district education officer in connection with the incident.

This apart, the district administration announced to bear the medical expenses of the injured students.

Meanwhile, the family members of the students and some locals gathered near the school premises and demanded an inquiry into the matter.

Adequate police personnel were deployed in and around the school premises to prevent any untoward incident.
