Bhadrak: A girl student was allegedly forced into a car and abducted in Mahulia area under Chandbali police limits in Odisha’s Bhadrak district.
Though the incident took place on August 19, police are yet to rescue the girl, the family members alleged.
According to sources, the girl is the daughter of Gourahari Panda of Ugratara village. The miscreants kidnapped her from Mahulia square, while she was returning home after attending tuition at Chandbali.
Her family members lodged a complaint with Chandbali police on August 19.
“My daughter has been missing for the last 10 days. She had called two days back. She was crying inconsolably and said that the kidnappers were beating her. They are forcing her to tell that she had accompanied them of her own will. The police are not taking any proper action,” the girl’s mother said.
Satyabrata Parida, an eyewitness, said, “A car came from Bhadrak side, a man came out of the vehicle and forcibly dragged the girl inside the car and fled.”
Chandbali police station IIC Karunakar Rout, on the other hand, claimed that he had spoken to the girl over phone and she assured him that she would arrive at the police station in two to three hours.
“Police have recovered the CCTV footage of the incident and launched a hunt for the kidnappers. A case has also been registered on the basis of the missing complaint lodged by her parents,” he added.
