Jajpur: The body of a girl student of a nursing college was found hanging in a hostel room in Odisha’s Jajpur district.
The deceased has been identified as Nibedita Sahoo of Dhusuri area in Bhadrak district. She was a second year student in the nursing college located in Jajpur.
Sources said the college authorities found Nibedita hanging inside her hostel room on Wednesday and immediately took her to Jajpur Road community health centre (CHC). However, she was declared dead by the doctors.
After getting information, a team of police personnel from Jajpur Road rushed to the spot and launched an investigation into the incident. A scientific team also visited the spot.
An FIR has been registered in connection with the incident and an investigation is underway, police said, adding that the body has been sent for postmortem.
The exact reason behind the death can be ascertained after getting the post-mortem report.
