Khurda: A girl student of Prananath Autonomous College in Khurda district was found hanging inside a private hostel on Wednesday.
The girl was a Plus II student of the educational institution.
According to the information available, some employees of the hostel broke open the door of the hostel room after they noticed that there was no activity inside. Later, they found the girl hanging from the ceiling fan with a dupatta.
On being alerted, a police team along with scientific experts reached the spot and started investigation. The body was later seized and sent for postmortem.
Police and locals suspect it to be a case of suicide. However, no suicide note or other evidence was recovered from the spot.
