Girl Injured In Acid Attack At Kalahandi Village

Bhawanipatna: A girl was injured after being attacked with
acid by a jilted lover at Bankapada village under Kalampur block in
Kalahandi district on Monday.

The victim, who sustained burn injuries on her face and hands, was
initially rushed to Kalampur hospital and later shifted to the
district headquarters hospital for better treatment.

According to a police officer, the girl’s family members alleged that
one Parsuram Majhi of Khandidangariguda village threw acid on the
victim while she was on her way Kalampur for attending computer
classes. He fled the spot immediately after committing the crime.

The incident took place allegedly after the girl rejected Majhi’s
proposal of having a relationship with him. However, efforts are on to
nab the culprit, the officer said.
