Balangir: The Deogaon Block Education Officer (BEO) on Friday suspended the headmaster of the Model Upper Primary School at Mursingha in Odisha’s Balangir on charges of sexual harassment of girl students.
According to sources, the headmaster, identified as Biswanath Budhia, was detained by students’ parents and villagers on Thursday after four girl students of Class VI brought sexual harassment allegations against him.
Budhia allegedly called the girl students to his office chamber and asked them to undress on Monday. He also allegedly tried to molest them and threatened to expel them if they told anybody about it.
However, one of the girls told her mother about it and also about other girls who were sexually harassed by the headmaster.
