New Delhi: Parents are becoming much more aware of their daughters’ education and are not holding them back from taking up studies outside the state. The just released Census 2011 data on migration has revealed that the more than 1.50 lakh girls moved out of Odisha for education in the last decade.
In fact, Odisha is among the leading states in the country, which has witnessed more and more girls migrating beyond the state boundaries for studies. The others being Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. As per the Census figures, the jump in these states is four times higher than boys at 52 per cent.
