Mumbai: Raveena Tandon is gearing up to reunite with Akshay Kumar on screen in ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, much to the excitement of fans who are eager to see the former couple share screen space after years.
Amid the buzz surrounding their reunion, an old interview of Raveena discussing her broken engagement with the actor has resurfaced online.
Raveena and Akshay reportedly fell in love when they were working together in the 1994 hit ‘Mohra’.
The actress has previously said that t
he two got engaged in the late 1990s before deciding to go their separate ways.
During an old interview with ANI, when Raveena was asked about her widely discussed ‘broken engagement’ with Akshay, she said: “It comes up, and it comes up like there’s a war between everyone whom he’s involved with. Hello, once I had moved out of his life, I was already dating someone else, and he was already dating someone else, so kahan se jealousy ayegi (where will jealousy come from)?”
“We were a hit pair during Mohra, and even now, when we bump into each other socially, we all meet, we all chat. Everyone moves on. Girls have been changing their boyfriends every week in colleges, but one engagement that has broken is still stuck to my head; I don’t know why. Everyone moves on; people have divorces, they move on, what’s the big deal.”
After breaking up with Raveena, Akshay started dating Twinkle Khanna. Akshay and Twinkle got married in 2001, and are parents to Aarav and Nitara.
Raveena, on the other hand, tied the knot with businessman Anil Thadani. The couple has a daughter named Rasha and a son, Ranbirvardhan Thadani.
