Bhubaneswar: The girls have outshone the boys in the annual +2 Arts, Commerce and Vocational Education examinations this year the results of which were announced on Saturday.
The results were formally announced by School and Mass Education minister Badri Narayan Patra at the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) headquarters here.
The pass percentage in the Arts stream is 68.79 as against 70.71 last year.
Out of a total of 2,30,206 students, 1,58,378 students have cleared the examination of which 63,759 are boys (60.88%) and 94,619 are girls (75.39%).
Among the students who have cleared the examination, 19,993 have secured first division, 26,076 in the second division and 1,12,143 in the third division.
While Puri has topped the district chart with the highest pass percentage of 79.87, Nabarangpur has the lowest pass percentage with 47.58.
In the Commerce stream, the pass percentage is 74.91 as against 71.43 last year.
Out of a total of 26,984 students, 20,216 students have cleared the examination of which 13,089 are boys (73.11%) and 7127 are girls (78.48%).
Among the students who have cleared the examination, 4006 have secured first division, 3734 in the second division and 12,470 in the third division.
Nayagarh has topped the district chart with the highest pass percentage of 95.59, while Deogarh has the lowest pass percentage with 45.07.
In the Vocational Education stream, the pass percentage is 52.61 as against 61.22 last year.
Out of a total of 7966 students, 4191 students have cleared the examination of which 2080 are boys (48.71%) and 2111 are girls (57.11%).
Among the students who have cleared the examination, 299 have secured first division, 1692 in the second division and 2051 in the third division.
Bargarh has topped the district chart with the highest pass percentage of 81.89, while Nabarangpur district has the lowest pass percentage with only 3.92.
