Mumbai: Sony’s PlayStation Network (PSN) suffered global outage due to severe server connectivity issues. Online gamers were unable to log in or create new accounts on PlayStation devices. Sony confirmed the outage on the Sony PSN status support page.

“You might have difficulty launching games, apps, or network features. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience,” reads the message.

According to the outage tracking platform, Downdetector, the outage started around 6 pm. The number of complaints in India is relatively less compared to complaints worldwide, especially in the US.

PlayStation users flooded social media with memes making fun of the PSN outage. One particular user had an especially bad case as they had just bought a PS5 system only to find that the network was down.

“I literally JUST bought a PS5 and Playstation servers are down,”

According to several online reports, the outage has hit all PS platforms including PS5, PS4, PS Vita, and PS3. Users have not been able to sign in to their accounts, create new accounts or edit account details.
