Panaji: Goa chief minister and former Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, who had been battling a pancreatic ailment for more than a year, died at his home in Panaji on Sunday. He was 63.
Earlier in the day, his office tweeted that his condition was “extremely critical” and doctors were trying their best.
The four-time chief minister was diagnosed with a pancreatic ailment in February last year. He had been in and out of hospitals in Goa, Mumbai, Delhi and the US since then.
In the past few months, he had made a few public appearances on a wheelchair with a tube in his nose and a urinary sheath connected to him, looking frail.
