Panaji: Actor and model Milind Soman was booked by Goa Police for obscenity on Friday.

Soman had posted a photograph of himself running nude on a Goa beach to mark his birthday on Wednesday. He had captioned the photograph, “55 and running!”.

However, the social media post didn’t go well with a section of people accsuing the Goa police of hypocrisy for not acting against Soman while booking actor and model Poonam Pandey for shooting a nude video on a government property in the state.

Go police moved to book Soman on the basis of a complaint by a political outfit named Goa Suraksha Manch.

“Soman has used Goa for his cheap publicity and acted foolishly on a public beach,” Manch President Sameer Khutwalker said.

“A case has been registered at Colva police station under IPC Section 294 (obscene acts and songs) and Section 67 of IT Act (publishing and transmitting obscene material in electronic form) against actor Milind Soman,” South Goa SP Pankaj Singh said, reported The Indian Express.
