Panjim: A 25-year-old nurse was critically injured after she was allegedly stabbed multiple times by a suspected stalker inside the premises of a community health cen
tre in Goa on Tuesday evening, police said. The accused, identified as Gautam Devidas, 25, was overpowered by bystanders and handed over to the police, reported HT.
According to police, the accused allegedly charged towards the nurse near the entrance of the health centre and stabbed her repeatedly in the back, chest and hand until she collapsed. The victim was rushed for emergency medical treatment and remains in critical condition. Police later recorded her statement.
Investigators suspect the attack may have been linked to stalking, though they said the exact motive is still under investigation. The accused has been taken into custody and further legal proceedings are underway.
Police said they are examining all aspects of the case and collecting evidence as part of the investigation.
