Bhubaneswar: Gold deposits have been identified in two districts of Odisha and further exploration is underway, the state Assembly was informed on Thursday.
Sharing this information while replying to a question, Steel and Mines Minister, Bibhuti Bhushan Jena stated that gold deposits have been found in Adas-Rampalli area of Deogarh district and Gopur-Gajipur area of Keonjhar.
The Minister stated that G-2 level exploration conducted by the Geological Survey of India (GSI) has been completed in Deogarh’s Adas-Rampalli area, yielding promising results.
Similarly, G-3 level exploration in Keonjhar’s Gopur-Gajipur area has produced satisfactory findings, prompting the initiation of G-2 level exploration in the region.
This exploration is being carried out by the GSI in collaboration with the Directorate of Mines and Geology, Odisha, the Minister added.
Further steps will be taken based on the recommendations of the Technical Committee after the submission of the final report by the exploration agencies, he added.
