Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s accomplished cyclist Swasti Singh has added one more feather to her cap.
Amidst the hype over build-up to the FIH Men’s World Cup in Odisha for the second straight time, the cyclist went about her business in typically efficient manner to strike gold in women’s elite 90 km race at the 74th National Road Cycling Championship in Shirdi, Maharashtra.
The 21-year-old Swasti, who received the Eklabya Puraskar last month, clocked 2:56:45 to finish ahead of Gujarat’s Jyoti Kumavat and Railways’ C Danamma.
Swasti has won multiple laurels in national and international events, including a bronze at last year’s Asian Track meet.
