Sundargarh: Panic gripped Thanapada under Badagan police limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district after unidentified miscreants opened fire on two persons in the early hours of Monday.
According to sources, three bike-borne miscreants opened two rounds of fire on Rohit Burma, son of a goldsmith, near the bus stand. They also shot at another person as he tried to save Burma.
While Burma sustained bullet injuries in his head and stomach, the other person, identified as Saroj Das, was hit on his back shoulder.
Soon after the incident, the locals rushed to the spot and admitted the duo at the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Badagan.
On being informed, police reached the spot and seized a pistol from the spot.
A manhunt has been launched to nab the miscreants.
