Mumbai: The wait for the next instalment of the popular Golmaal franchise is finally over.
Director Rohit Shetty has officially confirmed the cast of Golmaal 5 and announced its release date with a fun, whistle-worthy motion poster featuring Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi and Tusshar Kapoor, among others.
The film will bring back the much-loved comedy franchise for another round of chaos and laughter.
Taking to Instagram, Rohit wrote, “LAUGHTER, FUN, JOY, HAPPINESS AND FAMILY… BAS, NOTHING ELSE.”
In a follow-up Instagram post, Shetty revealed that Golmaal 5 will arrive in theatres on January 8, 2027.
The film also marks the return of the original Golmaal gang, including Sharman Joshi, who last appeared in the franchise in the first instalment, released in 2006.
The reunion is expected to bring back some of the franchise’s most-loved dynamics, including the running rivalry between Ajay Devgn and Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor’s signature “Ae ah oh” gag, along with a new twist in the chemistry between Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu and Sharman Joshi.
The makers have yet to reveal details about the remaining cast, including the actress or actresses who will headline the film opposite the male leads.
Kareena Kapoor Khan is the only female actor to have featured in two instalments of the franchise so far.
She appeared in Golmaal 2 and Golmaal 3, playing Ajay Devgn’s love interest in both films.
Golmaal 4, titled Golmaal Again, brought Tabu and Ajay Devgn together in a horror-comedy for the first time after their earlier collaborations.
The film also marked Parineeti Chopra’s first collaboration with director Rohit Shetty.
Interestingly, a fifth Golmaal film was teased back in 2018, with Arshad Warsi and his franchise co-stars making an appearance in the ‘Aankh Maare’ dance video from Simmba.
One particular dance step in the video caught fans’ attention, with many taking it as a possible hint that another Golmaal film could be on the way.
With the original gang set to reunite on screen and the release date locked, anticipation for Golmaal 5 is set to grow in the coming months.
