New Delhi: In an effort towards flattening the COVID-19 curve, India has witnessed a spike in the recovery rate of Corona-infected patients at 20.66 per cent.
With 5,062 people cured of the deadly virus so far, the country’s recovery rate is better than most of the countries signing towards a positive effect of the lockdown in the country, as discussed in the Group of Ministers (GOM) meeting on COVID-19 on Saturday.
While the average doubling rate of the virus infections in the country is 9.1 days, a total of 24,506 people have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 with 1,429 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.
Applauding the efforts of 1.24 crore COVID warriors registered with the government, Union Minister of Health and Family Affairs, Dr. Harsh Vardhan said, “This is not only their fight, but our collective effort. They are our frontline warriors and as a nation, let us not only respect their contribution but ensure that their safety and dignity are protected too.”
Besides this, more than 10 lakh personnel have undergone healthcare training through online platforms such as the MoHFW website and the iGOT training portal.
Among reviewing other measures taken as on date by the Centre and various States/UTs for prevention, containment, and management of COVID-19, GOM also deliberated on the quality and availability of PPEs, masks, ventilators, and other equipment.
