Balasore: A wagon of a coal-laden goods train stationed at Rupsa Station in Odisha’s Balasore caught fire on Saturday morning.
According to sources, some station employees noticed smoke in one of the wagons of the train, carrying coal from West Bengal to Balasore, parked at the platform since last night. The Fire Service personnel were called in to douse the flame and control spread of the fire to other wagons.
While the goods train left for its destination soon after, the cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.
A similar incident was reported at Balugaon railway station last night. Local fire station staff sprinkled water on the coal to douse the flames. ECoR sources termed it as a minor incident, which was immediately solved by railway staff.
