Bhubaneswar: At least five bogies of a goods train derailed at Bhubaneswar railway station on Monday night, affecting train services partially. The incident took place at the station yard at 8.35 pm.
The Hirakhand Express, Rajdhani Express (detained at Mancheswar), Jan Shatabdi Express, Junagarh Road Express, Puri-Durg Express, Tapaswini Express, Puri-Gandhidham Express and Puri-Howrah Express, all of them bound for Bhubaneswar, have been stranded at various points enroute.
The goods train was going from Chakradharpur division towards Vizianagaram via Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
According to sources, none of the derailed wagons have overturned and the upline has already been cleared. Normal train services will resume shortly.
