Koraput: A goods train derailed near Padua railway station in Odisha’s Koraput district on Thursday.
According to sources, at least six wagons of the goods train jumped the tracks near Padua in the afternoon. The train carrying iron ore was going from Bacheli in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh to Visakhapatnam of Andhra Pradesh. Nobody has been injured in the incident.
However, the movement of the passenger trains has not been affected. These trains were moving as per schedule on the second track on the route, said the Railway sources.
While the cause of the derailment has not been ascertained, the Railway officials and technical team have rushed to the spot and started restoration works, they added.
