Goods Train Derails At Vizianagaram; Vande Bharat Among 9 Trains Delayed

Bhubaneswar: goods train derailed at Vizianagaram Signature Bridge, sending five wagons off the tracks, on Friday. 

The East Coast Railway, in a release, said that the derailment took place at Vizianagaram Railway station yard under Waltair division, delaying several trains, including Vande Bharat and Prashanti Express.

The nine trains controlled at en route stations are as follows:

1. 20841 (Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam) Vande Bharat exp.
2. 12863 (Howrah-SMVT Bangalore ) Exp.
3. 18463 (Bhubaneswar-KSR Bangalore) Prashanti exp.
4. 18047 (Shalimar-Vasco-da-Gama) exp.
5. 18117 (Rourkela-Gunupur) Rajya Rani Exp.
6. 22644 (Patna-Ernakulam) Exp.
7. 12839 (Howrah-Chennai) Mail Exp.
8. 22819 (Bhubaneswar New-Vishakapatnam) Intercity Expo.
9. 17015 (Bhubaneswar New-Secunderabad) Visakha Exp.

“The restoration works are under progress. Every effort has been taken to normalise the train movements in the section at the earliest,” it added.
