Rourkela: A goods train crashed into Malgodown slum parking in Rourkela’s Basanti colony after three of its wagons derailed on Wednesday morning.
The derailment affected vehicular movement on Malgodown level crossing and Basanti colony.
“We heard a loud sound something like bursting of crackers only to find a train moving towards our houses. We then ran for our lives,” said a slum dweller, adding that there was no major damage.
While no injuries have been reported, the Railways has launched an inquiry to determine the cause of the incident.
