Jeypore: Two loaded wagons of a goods train derailed within yard limits on Manabar–Dumuriput tie line in Odisha’s Koraput under Waltair Division late on Monday.
According to sources, yard derailment occurred when the goods train was travelling from Jagdalpur to Visakhapatnam. Restoration of the track was taken up immediately with Accident Relief and Restoration Teams pressed into service to re-rail the affected wagons. A specialised team was also mobilised for rescue and maintenance operations.
The ECoR, in a press statement late last night, said that there was no impact on passenger train operations. Senior railway officials are present at the site and are monitoring the restoration work, it added.
