Google CEO Sundar Pichai has received a hefty pay raise after taking over the additional role of Alphabet CEO.
Pichai has been given Rs 1,707 crore ($240 million) in stock package and Rs 14 crore in annual salary. In addition, the 47-year-old CEO will receive Rs 640 crore in performance-based stock units.
He was elevated to the top post after Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin stepped down recently.
Pichai grew up in India and has degrees from Stanford University and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He has been with Google since 2004 and has led popular products such as Gmail, the Chrome browser and Android operating system.
