Goons chop off labourer’s leg in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: Tension gripped Mohammadpur in Sambalpur district on Tuesday after a group of miscreants chopped off a labourer’s leg over past enmity.
The labourer, who sustained critical injuries, was admitted to VIMSAR in Burla.
Irked over the incident, some fellow workers gheraoed Hirakud police station demanding immediate arrest of the culprits. They suspect involvement of a local contractor in the attack.
In a separate incident, a person was injured when a clash broke out between two groups during Ganesh idol immersion at Makarpali village under Buguda police limits in Ganjam district. The victim identified as Bishnu Nayak was rushed to Buguda hospital for treatment.
