Gopalpur: The much-awaited Gopalpur beach festival kicked off on
Sunday evening at the famous beach resort town of Gopalpur in Ganjam
district.
The five-day festival organised by Ganjam District Hoteliers’
Association with support from the district administration was
inaugurated by food supplies and consumer welfare minister Surya
Narayan Patro, who said that the extravaganza aims at promoting
Gopalpur as a tourist hub in the country by attracting tourists.
Senior officials of the district were present on the occasion.
A series of events including a feast of dances by different groups,
cultural shows, trade fair, food festival, pallishree mela, handloom
and handicraft fair will be held during the festival.
