Mumbai: Producer Sandip Singh, Sushant Singh Rajput’s close friend, has revealed that he received insensitive messages from ‘powerful people’ after the actor’s death.
Sandip said that as soon as he returned home after attending Sushant’s funeral, he received phone calls and messages from some powerful people asking him why they were not ‘invited’ to the actor’s funeral.
“People created a drama out of his death, he did not like such things. I was about to go for a bath after I came home from the last rites and I got a few phone calls and messages asking me why I did not invite them to the funeral! I got messages ‘we are powerful people, you have not invited us’. I mean, what goes on in the minds of these people? Shocking!” Sandip said in an interview to BollywoodHungama.
Sushant’s friend further stated that there were many celebrities like Ekta Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Randeep Hooda who attended the funeral despite not being invited.
“Ekta Kapoor had been dragged into a controversy but she was there on her own. Shraddha Kapoor, Randeep Hooda, ye saare log waha aa ke baarish me khade the, ro rahe the. More than his death, I am hurt by the things people are doing,” added Sandip.
Sandip also said that after Sushant’s death, the emotions of his fans and well-wishers are being channelised in a wrong manner.
Appealing to the people to understand the pain Sushant’s family is going through, Sandip said, “Uski family ko thoda akela chor do, samjho uski family ko thoda… kya pain hoga ki uske jaisa successful insan ye step le liya. Many people have messaged me that we are not sending our kids to Mumbai for acting. People are scared, we need to inspire them.”
Sandip, who started his career as a journalist, later joined Bhansali Productions as the CEO. In 2015, he founded the production company called Legend Global Studio. He has produced movies like Mary Kom, Aligarh, Sarabjit, Bhoomi and PM Narendra Modi.
