Govinda Breaks Silence On Alleged 3 AM Attack, Says Police Didn’t Answer Calls

Mumbai: Actor Govinda has broken his silence on the alleged attack at his residence in the early hours of the morning, days after his manager Shashi Sinha claimed that the actor had fended off intruders with his licensed gun.

Speaking to ANI, Govinda said he noticed around 22–23 unidentified men outside his home at around 3–3:30 am. “They didn’t look like party-goers, and I sensed something was wrong, so I started filming them,” he said, adding that repeated calls to the Mumbai police went unanswered.

The actor claimed that some of the men had gone up to his terrace while others were positioned outside in a manner he found suspicious. “I informed everyone and stepped out with my licensed gun. When I asked them who they were, they initially had no answer. Later, they claimed they were there to fix the power system,” Govinda said.

He added that he asked them to complete the work and leave, pointing the gun at them. “I am only nice till my life is threatened,” he stated.

When asked if he was trying to find out who was behind the alleged incident, Govinda said he did not wish to focus his energy on it, adding that his job was to “focus on acting, not reacting.”

Earlier, his manager had claimed that an FIR was filed and that there was no security present at the actor’s residence at the time of the incident. He also said a video of the incident exists.
