Govt blacklists contractor Banti Agrawal for submitting forged docs

Bhubaneswar: The government on Monday banned super class contractor from Bhawanipatna, Banti Agarwal, from taking part in bidding process for any work to be undertaken by the state on recommendation of the Works Department for allegedly acquiring tender by submitting fake and fabricated documents.

As per a notification by Office of the Engineer-in-chief (civil) issued on October 21, Banti has been blacklisted with immediate effect.

On October 13, the government had blacklisted Suraj Enterprise owned by Banti’s father Rajendra Prasad Agarwal.

The father-son duo has been accused of submitting fake term deposit receipts (TDRs) to bag contracts of several government departments. The forgery amounts to Rs 10 to 12 crore in Balangir, Kalahandi and Nuapada districts.
