Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has directed Puri district administration to complete the process of regularisation of the land given on lease by the municipality.
The government’s direction came following a high-level meeting at the Office of the Chief Minister (CMO) on Friday. It was revealed at the meeting that around 504 acre of land have been leased out to different individuals and institutions for a long time.
In order to regularise those land, the government directed the district administration to complete the survey work within 20 days. Additional revenue officials will be deputed to complete the work within the deadline after deciding the dues to be collected from the lease holders as per the norms.
During his visit to Puri earlier, 5(T) secretary VK Pandian had received various grievances from the public in this connection.
The meeting also discussed the construction of a reservoir on Barttang river near Manjari village in Nayagarh district. It decided to call tenders for the project immediately after obtaining environmental and other approvals.
Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Management department Satyabrat Sahu and senior officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
