Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Friday apprehended superintendent of Sainkul CHC in Keonjhar district, Dr Ranjeeb Kumar Rout, while allegedly accepting Rs 20,800 bribe.
According to a Vigilance release, he had demanded the illegal gratification from a person to appoint his sister as yoga instructor at CHC as well as for withdrawal of his pending salary bill.
“Finding no other option, he reported the matter and harassment by the doctor on toll-free No 1064 of Odisha Vigilance, and the same was registered. Accordingly, Vigilance officials planned and trapped the doctor while he was accepting the bribe money from complainant,” the release said.
The entire bribe money was recovered from Dr Rout and seized, it added.
