Govt effects major reshuffle in IAS cadre

Bhubaneswar: The state government on Tuesday effected a major reshuffle at top bureaucratic level.

According to a General Administration department notification, Sangram Keshari Mishra (1985 batch IAS officer) has been appointed Chairman of Odisha State Warehousing Corporation and Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra (1988 batch IAS officer) the Principal Secretary of School and Mass Education department.

Similarly, 1990 batch IAS officer Manoj Ahuja has been posted as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in General Administration and Public Grievance (GA &PG) department, while 1990 batch IAS officer G Srinivas appointed Principal Secretary of Commerce and Transport department.

Besides, 1991 batch IAS officer Anu Garg has been made Principal Secretary of Labour and ESI department, while his batchmate Sanjay Rastogi has been posted as OSD in GA & PG department.

Saurabh Garg (1991 batch IAS officer), who returned after Central deputation, has been appointed as Principal Secretary Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment department and Nikunja Bihari Dhal (1993 batch IAS officer), who was Special Resident Commissioner of the State government in New Delhi, posted as Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Excise department with additional charge of Commissioner-cum-secretary Science & Technology department.

Ranjana Chopra, the 1994 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Co-operation department with the additional charge of DG Gopabandhu Academy of Administration and V V Yadav of 1996 batch appointed as Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare department.

Bishnupada Sethi (1995 batch IAS officer), who is currently Commissioner-cum-Secretary Rural Development department and Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has been given additional charge of Managing Director of OSDMA, while IAS officer Niranjan Sahu has been appointed Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister.
