Govt Engineer Disappears During Tour In Odisha’s Koraput

Jeypore: Police have launched a search operation for a junior engineer of Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS), M Venkat Rao, after he went missing during a tour to Haradaguda in Koraput district on Monday.

According to reports, a five-member team of RWSS officials of Borigumma block had gone to Haradaput village for selecting pipes for the installation of a tube well. After visiting the village and the site, the team was on way to Borigumma block. However, on the way, the team members found Rao missing. After failing to trace him after a frantic search, the team went to B Singhapur police station and lodged a complaint in the evening.

Acting on the complaint, police began a search operation but in vain.

Talking to the media, Jeypore Sadar SDPO Harekrushna Majhi said that a police team has started the search operation on Tuesday morning.

Till reports last came in, the junior engineer was not yet traced.
