New Delhi: The central government has extended norms for work from home (WFH) for IT and ITes companies till December 31 as the country’s COVID-19 caseload continues to surge.
In a late-night tweet on Tuesday, the Department of Telecommunications informed the same.
Earlier in March, the DoT relaxed certain norms for other service providers (OSPs) till April 30 to facilitate WFH amid the coronavirus pandemic. This got a further extension till July 31.
According to news agency PTI, around 85 per cent of the IT workforce is currently working from home. Few people, particularly in charge of critical functions, are currently attending offices.
