New Delhi: The Union government on Friday further extended validity of motor vehicle documents like driving licence (DL) and registration certificate (RC) till June 30, 2021 keeping in mind the COVID-19 pandemic and a second wave of infections in the country.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) said in an advisory that it is extending the validity of fitness, permit, driving licence, registration and other documents which had expired after February 2020, or will expire by March 31, 2021. The same may be treated to be valid till June 30, 2021, stated the advisory.
Advisories had earlier been issued on March 30, June 9, August 24 and December 27 last year regarding extension of documents validity, reported Hindustan Times.
In the last notification, it was advised that validity of fitness, permit (all types), licence, registration and any other related documents may be treated to be valid till March 31, 2021.
