Govt Gears Up For President Droupadi Murmu’s 2-Day Odisha Visit; Check Her Itinerary

Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to embark on a two-day visit to Odisha from July 14, during which she will attend the 5th Convocation Ceremony of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar and 13th Annual Convocation of Ravenshaw University in Cuttack.

A high-level preparatory meeting, led by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, was held at Lok Seva Bhawan on Wednesday. Detailed arrangements, including airport logistics, security, motorcade, medical facilities, road maintenance, cleanliness, power supply with backup generators, and contingency plans, have been planned to ensure the smooth execution of the President’s itinerary

Murmu will arrive in Bhubaneswar on July 14 in a special Indian Air Force plane. She will attend the 5th Convocation Ceremony of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar that evening followed by night stay at Raj Bhavan.

On July 15, the President will attend the 13th convocation of Ravenshaw University and lay the foundation stone for upgrading Ravenshaw Girls’ High School in Cuttack. She will then visit Sharala Bhawan at Tulasipur for 600th birth anniversary celebration of Odisha’s Adikabi Sharala Das and present the Kalinga Ratna Award-2024 at a literary event hosted by the Sarala Sahitya Sansad before leaving for New Delhi in the evening of July 15.

The meeting was attended by Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Satyabrata Sahu, DGP Y B Khurania, secretaries of departments concerned, Revenue Divisional Commissioner (central) and Collectors of Cuttack and Khurda districts.

Earlier speaking to the media, Professor Luna Samanta, Chairperson of the PG Council of Ravenshaw University, said: “The Union Education Minister, the Chief Minister, and the state Education Minister will also attend the event. The Governor, who is the Chancellor, will preside over the function…”
