Lucknow: COVID-19 brought about radical changes in our lifestyle. One of the most significant effects of the pandemic was a work-from-home culture, with employees attending meetings and interacting with fellow-professionals through online platforms like Zoom, Meet, Skype etc.
There were occasions when some were caught napping as the camera showed them wearing shorts. But what happened in Uttar Pradesh recently takes the cake.
Call it stupidity or naivety, but an officer of Uttar Pradesh Education department decided to beat the heat by going shirtless while attending an official meeting online.
And he paid the price for wearing a vest during the video conference.
Director General of Education, Vijay Kiran Anand, took action promptly and suspended the officer over his inappropriate attire during the virtual meeting.
It was a review meeting, during which Vijay Kiran was discussing the progress of departmental projects with officers posted in different districts.
The officer’s choice of clothing meeting caused discomfort among other attendees.
The Education department has launched an investigation into the matter.
