Bhubaneswar: Acting tough against the agitating block grant teachers, the state higher education department, on Wednesday, ordered immediate suspension of the absentee examiners who were appointed for Plus II answer paper evaluation.
In a letter to different government-aided college managing committees, the department asked the officials concerned to suspend and arrest the non-reporting examiners immediately.
On the other hand, the members of All Odisha School College Teachers and Employees’ United Forum condemned the decision and warned that the agitation will be further intensified.
The students of different colleges have accompanied the agitating block grant teachers on Monday. The members of parents’ association have also extended their support to the agitation.
The block grant teachers have been staging separate demonstrations in front of 56 evaluation centres across the state seeking fulfilment of their six-point charter of demands since April 4.
