Govt Sends Odia Textbooks To Students In Outside Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government launched the process of sending Odia textbooks to students of outside states on the occasion of Utkal Diwas on Saturday.

School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash flagged off the vehicles carrying the Odia textbooks to other states. The textbooks for Classes I to VIII were sent to eight states. Those states are Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.

For the first time, a diary and two calendars will be provided along with the textbooks to the Odia students of outside Odisha.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said Odia textbooks have already been sent to various parts of the state. “The new academic year of schools with Classes I to VIII will start from April 3 this year. Admission of students will be held between April 3 and 8. Instructions have been issued to the school authorities to distribute the textbooks to students immediately after the admission,” he added.
