Govt Should ‘Demolish’ Twitter & Start Own Social Media: Kangana Ranaut

A day after Twitter suspended Rangoli Chandel’s account for inflammatory content, sister and Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut released a video on Instagram in her support.

Kangana asked the Indian government to ‘demolish’ or shut down Twitter in India. In the video, she alleged that she and her sister have been falsely accused by Farah Khan Ali and Reema Kagti of being communal and calling for a genocide against Muslims. She said that Rangoli asked only those who attacked the doctors to be shot dead and clarified that they don’t believe that every Muslim is doing so.

Rangoli had tweeted asking “mullas + secular media” to be shot dead.

Kangana said Twitter allowed Indian Prime Minister, Home Minister and organisations like the RSS to be called terrorists but does not allow terrorists to be called terrorists. The government should have its own social media platform, she opined.

She also appealed to increase wrestler Babita Phogat’s security who has been receiving death threats after she tweeted accusing the Tablighi Jamaat for spreading COVID-19 in the country.
