Jagatsinghpur: Vigilance officials caught a junior assistant at the Executive Engineer Office of RWSS in Jagatsinghpur while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 on Monday.
The accused was identified as Amarendra Acharya.
According to sources, Acharya had demanded the money from one Basant Kumar Barik, a retired fitter mechanic, in order to process his final pension.
The entire bribe money was recovered from Acharya, the sources said.
Vigilance sluths were also searching Acharya’s house to find if he possessed disproportionate assets.
