Bhubaneswar: In a major initiative for all-round development of the students, the Odisha government will launch Nabin Odisha Magic Card.
This was stated by 5T and Nabin Odisha chairman VK Pandian during his visit to Kalahandi, Balangir and Bargarh districts on Sunday.
“The futuristic Nabin Odisha Magic Card, a point-based smart card, will engage and empower the youth and enable them towards academic development, personality development, skill development. It will also help reduce the financial burden on parents, create opportunities for career progression and employment,” he said.
Online registration portal for this card will be launched on March 5. All the students, without any income criteria, of the under-graduate and post-graduate courses will be eligible. The distribution of the cards will start on August 15.
Pandian attended the Nua-O Scholarship Distribution Programme at Dharmagarh in Kalahandi, Titlagarh in Balangir and Bargarh where he interacted with the students.
He informed that 37,160 eligible students from 80 colleges of the three districts will get their scholarship. Total Rs 36.81 crore has been sanctioned for 37,160 students from the districts. He distributed Nua-O Scholarship sanction orders among the students.
5T chairman conveyed the message of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik that the youths should dream big and work hard towards achieving their potential. The government will ensure that they are provided with the support to achieve their goals.
