Bhubaneswar: In the wake of some habisyalis staging a protest for being denied free accommodation in Puri on Thursday, the Odisha government has announced that it would launch a helpline number for them soon.
Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan said in order to further streamline the facilities for the habisyalis coming to Puri to observe Radha Damodara Brata or Kartika Brata during the holy month of Kartika.
The government has already taken several measures for comfortable stay of habisyalis and observe the Brata without any hassles. Besides their accommodation in different places of the town, two gates of Jagannath temple have been opened for their smooth entry to have darshan, he said.
The helpline number would be a step ahead for the devotees coming from across the state and outside to observe the Brata. They can dial this number to the district administration to resolve any problem faced by them during their stay in the Pilgrim Town, he added.
On the issues raised by the agitating habisyalis on the day, Harichandan said they should register their names online during the scheduled period from next year to avoid cush problems.
