Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has planned to promote its biennial investors’ meet, ‘Make In Odisha’, in major cities of the country through roadshows and meetings.
According to sources, besides four metro cities – Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai – the Make In Odisha will be promoted in Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru to attract investors to explore its business ecosystem.
Industries Minister Pratap Keshari Deb along with the officials of his department will attend a roadshow in Ahmedabad on Monday. At least 20 companies from different sectors of Gujarat are expected to participate in it.
“During the roadshow, we will showcase Odisha’s advantages as a preferred destination for the investors. The government’s investor-friendly policies that offer several incentives will be highlighted by the officials. The Industries minister will also hold personal meetings with representatives of industries,” TOI quoted secretary, Industries, Hemant Sharma as saying.
The Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha Ltd (Ipicol) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) as its national partner to hold the roadshows and investor outreach programme.
Besides, the government has planned to send a delegation to outside countries to invite investors to Make In Odisha meet which is scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar from November 30 to December 4. The third edition of the state’s investors’ summit, which was scheduled in 2020, was cancelled due to COVID pandemic.
The first two editions of the summit held in 2016 and 2018 had attracted total investment intents amounting to Rs 6 lakh crore, according to official sources.
