Bhubaneswar: With an aim to strengthen the partnership of Mission Shakti SHGs in urban initiatives, a virtual meeting was held jointly by the Housing & Urban Development Department and Mission Shakti Department on Wednesday.
Principal Secretary, H&UD Department G Mathivathanan said community engagement in urban services delivery through Mission Shakti SHGs is a non-negotiable agenda. The shift in government focus from contractor driven to community engagement model helped in empowering women and other vulnerable groups in the state.
Secretary, Mission Shakti, Sujatha Karthikeyan said Mission Shakti groups would be given credit support up to Rs 3 lakh towards working capital with zero interest rate to enable them execute development projects under the MUKTA programme.
Among others, Director Municipal Administration (DMA), Joint Secretary-cum-PD State Urban Development Agency (SUDA), municipal commissioners and executive officers from the ULBs, Project Director (DUDA) from H&UDD and District Social Welfare Officers (DSWOs) and Child Development Protection Officers (CDPOs) from Mission Shakti Department and other functionaries from urban areas of the state participated in the virtual meeting.
