Bhubaneswar: Odisha government’s various welfare schemes including disbursement of old age pension, opening of banking outlets, Mo Ghar and rural housing were reviewed at the one-day collectors’ conference in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Chairing the conference, Development Commissioner Anu Garg said the government has prioritised many pro-people welfare and development programmes which need to be focused and their implementation expedited. The state as well as the districts need to work as a team to achieve the targets as set by the government.
Principal Secretary, SSEPD emphasised on ensuring regular disbursement of old age pension. He also reviewed the status of Mo Ghar Scheme and PMAY(G).
Principal Secretary, Finance informed about the status of opening of banking outlets in panchayats which are yet to be covered by brick and mortar branches. People in rural areas will get benefit of doorstep banking services.
Principal Secretary, Commerce and Transport department explained the Location Accessible Multi-Model Initiative (LAccMI) scheme. In first phase, 55 Ama Bus Stand (ABS) have been set up and 124 more are in the pipeline. The collectors were told to look after the ABS already operational as regards to its maintenance and regular functioning.
Detailed presentation was made on District Level Intensive Skilling by the principal secretary, Skill Development & Technical Education. Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment made a presentation on crop weather situation and contingency plan for Rabi as well as Odisha Millet Mission activities.
ACS, Energy Department; secretary, W&CD Department and secretary, S&ME advised the collectors to ensure faster electrification of uncovered AWCs and schools.
Detail discussion was held on utilisation of DMF and OMBADC funds for saturation of basic facilities and promotion of livelihood activities in mining affected districts.
